Year Two - Starry Nights

The Year Two students created these art works in response to Vincent Van Gogh's "Starry Night".  The addition of glitter made them really special and they looked fantastic on the wall at Presentation Night

Year Two - Flower Power

The Year Two students created these lovely flower pictures using soft pastels and ink.  I love the contrast of the two different media.  I think the students enjoyed using the soft pastels - particularly seeing how they could blend the colours together.

Year Two - Poppies

The Year Two students have painted some beautiful poppies to brighten up the Art Room.  These have been inspired by the work of artist Georgia O'Keefe.

Year One and Year Two - Cats

This term the Year One and Two students have been working on cat paintings for the Perth Royal Show.  These paintings will hopefully be exhibited in the Cat Pavilion during the show (depending on number of entries they receive).  I think the students have done a really nice job of them and I just love how each one is different and has such personality.

Year Two - Fossils

The Year Two students had fun making these fossil pictures - they got to use lots of different media and techniques; wire, tissue paper collage, paint and pastels. The fossil shapes stand out better in real life and you can actually feel the shape of them.  This activity was perhaps a little tricky but I think they did well.

Year Two - Dinosaur Silhouettes

The Year Two students created dinosaur pictures using their own stencil.  First they had to draw the dinosaur onto the page and then very carefully cut it out.  Some students gave their dinosaurs spikes which made the cutting very tricky but provided wonderful results.  When the stencils were finished the students used them to print with a roller onto backgrounds that they had painted or drawn.
